The cyclist from Salamanca was one of the last Spanish climbers to win a great stage round and has four wins at the Vuelta Ciclista a España in his record.
In the years 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2005, playing for three different teams, Kelme in his first great success, US Postal in the second of his victories, and Liberty Seguros in the last two editions of the Spanish round in which he climbed at the top of the podium.
Heras is currently one of the references in BTT competitions such as Titan Desert, which he has won four times, three of them in a row (2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012).

March planned the participation of nearly 2,500 participants, who will have the possibility to take two routes, one long-distance, which will cover 120 kilometers, and another long-distance which will cover 164 kilometers.
The long-distance route is the ‘traditional’ Pedro Delgado March, with over 3,000 meters of positive elevation increases and climbs on the Navacerrada, La Morcuera, Canencia and Navafría passes.
All participants will leave at 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 7, from Plaza del Azoguejo, at the foot of the Roman Aqueduct, and after about five hours at the optimal time, they will reach the finish line next to pavilion bearing the name of the Segovian cyclist.
