Milan-Cortina 2026’s Winter Olympic Games Representatives showed Tuesday the medals delivered to athletes in the next games. The medals have a traditional Olympic symbol of five rings on one face, with a reverse inscription that detailed the event and commemoration of the headquarters. The same format was used for paralympic games, with its own unique symbol.
The medals were presented at a ceremony in Venice where the two famous Italy athletes retired, Federica Pellegrini and Francesca Porcelo, who won the gold medal both in the Paralympic Games of Winter and the Tag -Sun.
“Every medal, whether Olympic or Paralympic, is a metal recorded: talking about the effort, determination, sacrifice and hope of those who have lived to reach the podium,” said Giovanni Malamo, president of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Foundation.
The medals were made by the IPz, state currency factory, owned by the Ministry of Economy. During winter games a total of 245 gold, 245 silver and 245 bronze medals will be delivered. In the Paralympic Games, 137 medals will be delivered to each of the three classification.
Milan and the city of Cortina D’A Apezzo, one of the most popular ski stations in Italy, is the main area of games, held from February 6 to 22 next year. The Paralympic Games will be held next month.
