Everything is ready. The warm-up lap for the sprint race will begin. But Fernando Alonso’s Alpine was on the starting grid while the wheel heaters were turned on. No one understood what was happening.

});
The vehicle was removed and taken to the pits where at first everything seemed to be solved. But not. Again a problem for Fernando Alonso. This incident prompted him to start in the last position in Sunday’s race, ever since they decided to replace the power unit.
The car is turned off the starting grid and the team blames a supply component that all teams carry, ECU (electronic control unit). Enstone, the town where the team’s factory is located, became the main center for discovering the unknown. There they realize the reality of the problem. The fault did not come from the ECU but from the box that feeds it, a part that is from Alpine.
The team itself has to admit that the problem is with them. “We took it to the factory and were able to reproduce the problem. And it’s not the ECU. This is a box that feeds the ECU“, he told Motorsport Otmar Szafnauergeneral manager of the Alpine team.
After that statement he went on to comment on the problem. “So. the ECU is fine, but the box feeding the ECU is not okay. And if you don’t feed it, the ECU seems to be dead. Everything indicates that the ECU has failed, but then we don’t know that the power box is not working. And it’s a piece of Alpine. ”
Disappointments for Esteban Ocon
But this was not the only problem Alpine had to deal with. Bosch’s SSC high-pressure pump seems to be blamed for Esteban Ocon’s abandonment of Silverstone which was repeated at the end of the Austrian sprint race.
Again, the team had to admit that the problem was theirs. Changes were made to avoid mistakes in this part that are common to everyone at fault of the calamities of Ocon.
“The problem with the fuel pump was we had some power bank failures earlier in the year. we try to fix the problems ourselves, because the Bosch series pump does not work in an F1 installation, because it is part for cars on the road ”confirmed Otmar Szafnauer.
“A lot of teams had that problem, and we and Ferrari got permission from the FIA to make our own corrections. we are doing our own way to solve the Bosch problem. But even if the solution worked in the early races, now they have become culprits and while the rest of the team currently using improvements from Bosch, Ferrari and Alpine have decided to stay on their own.
