The midfielder and captain of Elche, Fidel Chávez sent a message silence after the defeat of the team from Elche in the first two games of the preseason against the affiliates of Newcastle (1-2) and Villarreal (1-3).
“We know these games at the end are few and far between. There are teams that feel bad and then they came well in the beginningo”, the Huelva-born explained to the media, recalling that it was not the first time that Elche was “not well” in a preseason.
Fidel assured that the team wants to “win all battles”but insisted that he faced the situation with the comfort of knowing that “things and teammates are missing”, while remembering that the youngsters from the quarry are playing and that the work is remarkable.
“These are the days of lots of intensity and load and it shows in the legs. On Saturday we have another game and we will try to get another result”, said Fidel referring to the match against Leganés.
The midfielder regretted the mistake defensive that his team is doing and that, in his opinion, should not happen “even in the preseason because against high-level teams they are goals”, although he admits that Elche has not been successful so far “in many respects”.
“We have more football”, affirmed the player, who is convinced that the team will assimilate the workload as the friendly matches pass.
The footballer said that the coach, Francis Rodriguezcontinues to have things “clear” and guarantees that Elche will “succeed and give everything from the first to the last game.”
Finally, Fidel wants the club to overcome the 20,000 subscribers next season, as he recalls that he will face an “important and exciting year for everyone”, referring to the centenary.
“We have passed very difficult year in this city and now we are in the centenary and in the First. I encourage people who hesitate to go because they will see a fighting and dedicated team that will keep Elche where it belongs, which is Primera”, he sentenced.
