Head times began to settle, allowing Bautista is getting closer to Kawasaki and Yamaha. It wasn’t until using too much speed that they had to overtake the Ducati on the same lap, where three pairs of riders came into the first corner.
Behind the leading group, with a distance of more than two seconds, is Scott Redding and Axel Bassani rolling together, chased by Andrea Locatelli, Garrett Gerloff, Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge.
With only 10 laps to go, Bautista put together the overtaking, but behind him was the Kawasaki rider, who, forcing the bike, tried to prevent the Ducati from pulling away to ride alone. Two laps later Toprak overtook Rea to approach the Panigale and try to seize the first position, which he managed to do just one lap later at the last corner of the Czech circuit.
Finally
The pilots started shooting alone. Redding managed to distance himself from Bassani as Lecuona rode alone trying to get close to Locatelli, his biggest rival in the world. At the turn, Toprak also made up ground in the gap, setting the fastest race lap in 1.31.7 with four laps to go.
For the first time, the most regular driver in terms of points had to retire. Iker Lecuona left the bike with one lap to go. This benefited his teammate Xavi Vierge who was seventh, behind Bassani and Locatelli after Gerloff’s puncture.
