Swedish Michael Ymer hit the British on Monday Andy Murray in the first round of the tournament Washington ATP 500.
Ymernumber 115 in the world ranking, defeated Murray by 7-6(8), 4-6 and 6-1 in two hours and 51 minutes of play and the tournament was over for the Briton, double Wimbledon champion and US Open career winner.
Murray looked out of shape and was slowed by muscle problems, evident in the first set, which prevented him from competing at his best.
The Swede met in the second round with the Russian Aslan Karatsevnumber 36 in the world, in a tournament where the Russian is also Andrew Rublev he is the highest ranking participant (n.8).
Rublev has won three tournaments this year, in Dubai, Marseille and Belgrade, and will make his Washington debut on Tuesday against the British Jack Draper, number 81 in the world, who won the only precedent, this year in Madrid. Draper debuted with a win by 7-5 and 6-2 against american Stefan Kozlovafter coming back from a 2-5 deficit in the first set.
The Australian is also competing in the tournament in Washington Nick Kyrgiosa finalist at Wimbledon, who will debut this Tuesday against American Marcos Giron.
