A small dog has been bitten and injured in a children’s playground in Linz-Urfahr. The shocked owner is left with the veterinary costs and is sent around by the authorities.
“I took my dog to the park. When I was walking through the meadow, I already saw the woman with the mastiff,” the dog owner recalled with a trembling voice in an interview with “Krone”. On July 24, her “Marley” was attacked, bitten and injured by another four-legged friend. The crime scene was a combined park and children’s playground on Dornacher Strasse in Linz-Urfahr.
Banged little dog
“I was hoping that the other dog owner wouldn’t let her mastiff on the leash. The woman must have seen me and ‘Marley'”, the Urfahraner describes the events. But the owner let the Great Dane unleash. “Then she was already running towards us and shook my little darling around. At first, the mastiff didn’t even listen to his wife’s calls,” the woman is still shocked.
She picked up her eight-year-old Chihuahua and went straight to the vet. There “Marley” was examined and the bite wounds – the worst the dog had suffered in the back area – were treated medically. The disillusionment came for the shocked pet owner when she wanted to file a report with the police.
Sent in circles
“They sent me away to the police station of Linz-Dornach because they were not responsible for it, the magistrate of Linz was. I will report there and in case of emergency I will also call in a lawyer”, the woman feels in circles And this despite the fact that she has a signed IOU from the owner of the mastiff that her dog bit and injured her Chihuahua “My vet bills are still outstanding, the owner has to pay them,” demands the Urfahranerin.
Chihuahua was mauled a month ago
In a similar incident almost exactly a month ago, a small Chihuahua was also bitten to death in Traun. As reported, a pit bull “Fena” tore up in the free-run zone in Oedt near Traun in front of his shocked mistress. The pit bull’s owner did not intervene at the time or attempt to control her dog. Her only comment: “He just doesn’t like small dogs.”
