The young Liverpool fan spreads quickly after the “tears of joy” in the first match

A Liverpool fan in Northern Ireland has gone viral after a video of him crying “tears of joy” in his first match garnered hundreds of thousands of views in a matter of hours.

Eight-year-old Oscar McLaughlin received tickets from D’Angevan for Liverpool’s match against Watford on Saturday 2 April, and the moment was captured in a video filmed by his father.

A few hours after her aunt posted the video on Twitter, the video had racked up 700,000 views, captured by ESPN and shared worldwide.

In the video, Oscar appears getting stronger at Anfield and crying “tears of joy” after noticing his favorite player, Mohamed Salah.

Speaking on Belfast Live, Oscar’s mother Melanie said the young man was “surprised” about the whole experience.

“He has been a Liverpool fan for a long time. He explained that his father and brother are big Tottenham fans so they did not visit Tottenham last month because Santa bought them all the tickets.”

“He doesn’t even like looking at his pictures of him when he’s wearing Spurs, and he keeps telling his dad it was so until he makes up his mind.

“He was so excited to leave, he couldn’t believe it. He’s waited so long from December until today, but he’s had a great time.

“I can’t wait to come back. He’s already given me his Santa roster for next year and says he wants two tickets.”

When he entered the stadium, Melanie said Oscar “couldn’t speak” because he “couldn’t believe he was there”.

Oscar was stunned when he saw his favorite player Mohamed Salah

Now that a video of his first assignment at Anfield has been released, an already eight-year-old is poised for the fame that goes with him.

Melanie said: “My sister posted it on Twitter, the next minute she said her phone didn’t turn off. ESPN asked for permission to post it and she has it on TikTok and Instagram, it’s all crazy.

“He said he was going to school tomorrow and that he would be the most famous person there. He didn’t believe it. He said everyone on the boat back home knew him, and everyone pointed at him.

When I got them off the dock, I said, ‘Oscar, you don’t believe it, but you’re viral,’ and he said, ‘I already know! “
