The French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha YZR M 1), leader of the MotoGP world championship and reigning champion, He admitted that he really wants to go to Silverstone, but “it will be difficult because of the long lap penalty…”.
“I’m happy to be back riding and even though I took advantage of the vacation to rest a bit, I also spent a lot of time training and mentally thinking about getting back into action in the best way possible,” he explained in Quartararo’s team statement.
“I’m really looking forward to Silverstone, where I won last year, but we know that we will have a hard time because we know that our lap penalty is that long…but if I’m really honest, that only motivates me to do better,” said Fabio Quartararo.
The Frenchman had to comply with a ‘Long Lap Penalty’ after being sanctioned for the maneuver that led to his first crash at Turn 5 at Assen on the fifth lap of the race and hit Aleix Espargaró.
