A 12-year-old girl died this Saturday after being run over by one of the vehicles participating in the Madeira Wine Rallyin the Portuguese archipelago.
The trial organization confirmed the girl’s death in a statement, in which it pointed out that she “did not resist the injuries suffered” and sent its condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
The girl “unexpectedly” crossed the walking route and was run over by one of the Rally participants, who had to be cut off.
He received help “immediately” by a team from Madeira’s medical services on trial and after stabilizing he was transferred by ambulance to the Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
The Madeira Wine Rally held its final three trials this Saturday.
