Half of CR7 does not prevent defeat of United de Ten Hag

Manchester United started the Ten Hag era in the Premier with a defeat against Brighton at Old Trafford (1-2). Brighton’s quick turnaround (despite the loss of Marc Cucurella and Yves Bissouma) was surprising. to a United that showed it was continuing its defensive doubts, contained, among other aspects, its captain, Harry Maguire. Gross scored the first goal taking advantage of a ball sent to him by Danny Welbeck and the second after a good counterattack.

Ten Hag ordered Cristiano Ronaldo to warm up at the end of the first half and brought him into the second. Manchester United managed to pull one back from a corner thanks to Alexis MacAllister’s own goal in the 68th minute after VAR ruled the game legal. But Ten Hag’s side gradually ran out of ideas against a Brighton team boosted by the changes Graham Potter had ordered. The Ten Hag era got off to a bitter start for United on the first day of the Premier. The performance of the ‘red devils’ was disappointing.
