There is already a solution to the conflict professional women’s football draw. This Tuesday the CDS had resolved the open procedure a few weeks ago due to the position of the Women’s Professional League and RFEF to hold two raffles.
In it, it cancels the call for the pairing draw for the Women’s Soccer First Division calendar conducted exclusively by the LPFF scheduled for July 26, 2022. It also cancels the call for the pairing draw for Women’s Soccer First Division calendar. Women’s Soccer is exclusively conducted by the RFEF dated July 27, 2022.
And as a consequence, it obliges both parties to hold the pairing draw for the First Division Women’s Football calendar in a harmonious manner between both entities. A letter signed by the Secretary of State for Sports, José Manuel Franco, and to which Mundo Deportivo had access. It is verbally resolved as follows: “First, regarding the status of the organizational entity, there is no doubt that the LPFF, from the moment of its constitution and effective existence, stands as the organizational entity of the women’s professional soccer competition.
Secondly, and notwithstanding the foregoing, the said organizational entity condition does not mean that in any aspect related to the women’s professional football competition, the LPFF is the only entity with the capacity to carry out actions in this regard .”
As a result, it corresponds “to the professional Leagues (such as the LPFF) to organize their own competitions, in coordination with the respective Spanish Sports Federation” (in this case the RFEF). prior to a matter subject to coordination, the LPFF cannot arrange and handle the pairing draw for the women’s professional competition calendar independently of the RFEF. the LPFF. There should be a coordinated action on the matter, where each of the entities plays its respective roles”.
Therefore, a draw that will be held in Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas and where it is the Liga that will determine the conditions and a draw that will be asymmetrical.
Once the CSD sent the resolution to the two parties, a difference arose regarding the date. The Women’s Professional League itself issued a four-point statement last night arguing that the CSD “estimated the existence of a conflict of powers”, also understood to agree with the League “because it is the organizational entity of the competition and therefore is that the RFEF lacks the ability to fix the draw”. It also refers to the conditions of the draw that the women’s employers have already sent to the RFEF “to apply them and proceed with the draw” and requests that the draw be held today and not the following Friday as suggested by the RFEF “Encouraged by LPFF the RFEF to conduct the draw this Wednesday without further delay instead of Friday, as suggested by the Secretary General of the RFEF, Andreu Camps”.
So far there has been no response from the RFEF to the request of the women’s employers, indicating that, due to the rush to organize everything, initially the next day, Friday, when the pairing will be drawn for the league that will start in just one month, on September 10.
