Portuguese striker Gonçalo Paciencia stated this Wednesday, after the presentation of eight Celta de Vigo signings in Balaídos, that “attitude” and “mentality” are non-negotiable to get good results during the LaLiga season.
“The coach asks us to have a lot of balls, to press… but the attitude and mentality cannot be lacking. Apart from tactics, the most important thing in football is to score goals and not suffer,” he told reporters.
The former Eintracht Frankfurt player, who made his debut with a goal against Al Shabab, said he was “very happy” to start working with the group and because he was received “very well” in the dressing room.
“I hope I can contribute a lot of good things. We don’t know yet who will play against Espanyol, but the eleven that will appear will give their lives for Celta”, pointed out Paciencia, who expects a good season from his team because they are “a team with a lot quality and lots of experience.”
