Before signing his one-season loan with Valencia this Thursday, Nico Gonzaleza 20-year-old Galician midfielder, wrote a message on Instagram guaranteeing his return to Camp Nou within twelve months and explaining the reasons why he requested Xavi Hernandez to allow him to leave now to return.
“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. At 20 years old, I need and want to play a lot of minutes to grow as a footballer, and for that reason I decided that the most appropriate thing for me is to do it in one club this season. To the Catalans, the team and the fans, I wish you all the luck in the world and that you celebrate many titles. We’ll meet again in a year. Força Barça!”.

Nico, who will sign his season-long loan for Valencia when he passes a medical this Thursday morning, is still pending a renewal at Barça. The Barça club and the player’s agent are still in talks to finalize the renewal of Nico’s contract, which currently ends in June 2024. The two parties are discussing whether they will do it for one or two seasons.
As explained by MD last Monday, the outlet asked Xavi Hernandez which will allow him to go out in search of a leading role that at Barça he found complicated. The coach agreed and so did the sports area, but one condition was placed on him: that he extend his contract, that’s one thing Nico He gave the go-ahead and this is the end of the two parties in the negotiation.
