Start marketing the new electric Renault Megane E-Tech along with a new user service plan

Simultaneously with the arrival on the network of the electric Megane E-Tech, Renault presented an exclusive plan of services and solutions for the customer, including a 7.4 kW household charger and its installation and the Mobilize Charge Pass card prepaid. is charged with a balance of 100 euros – which is roughly equivalent to 2,500 km – giving access to more than 2,600 public charging points in Spain and more than 300,000 in Europe.

The new 100% electric Megane E-Tech, the model that marks a new chapter in Renault’s electric revolution, has had a spectacular reception as more than 10,000 customers have already placed an order before the vehicle arrived at European dealers without to try it out or even see it in person. In addition, the 100% electric Megane E-Tech battery has a warranty of 8 years – with a limit of 160,000 km – and 8 years of energy support: in the event that the vehicle runs out of power, Renault will move the vehicle to the nearest charging station. All this is complemented by the Renault Care 5 package, a product with a 5-year warranty, maintenance and roadside assistance.

The electric Megane offers a range of up to 470 kilometers -in a strictly urban route-, with high performance thanks to its 220 hp power with instant delivery of all available torque motor and a new Open R Link multimedia system developed by Google that offers a viewing area of up to 774 cm2. The Megane also stands out for the large interior space it offers its occupants and a luggage compartment of 440 liters, despite its compact exterior dimensions, with a body length of 4.21 meters and a width of 1.77 m. Prices start from 36,600 euros for the 130 hp version, while the most powerful 220 hp model costs 42,200 euros. In addition, with the Moves III help plan, you get access to a government subsidy of 7,000 euros. Prices include VAT, registration tax, transport and promotional discounts.

The new electric Mégane has interior dimensions comparable to the current Mégane with combustion engines in length space and distance between passengers, and slightly higher (about 21 centimeters more) for the knees of the rear passengers. But the highlight of the Mégane E-TECH is its space and ease of use, thanks to the longer wheelbase, flat floor, smaller engine compartment and slimmer dashboard. In addition, the lack of a transmission tunnel, a gear lever and a control panel, normally integrated in the center console, increases the space on board. The luggage compartment offers a total volume of 440 litres, thanks to an additional 22 liters of space accessible via the double floor available as an accessory. To increase the load volume, the rear seats can be folded down and the front passenger seat can be folded vertically.

All versions of the electric Megane have recessed door handles. When the driver or front passenger reaches out to open a door, or when the car is unlocked, the hidden levers in the bodywork come out automatically, via an electrical system. They return to their closed position after parking for two minutes, when the car begins to move forward or when the doors are closed.

The Mégane E-TECH is available in two power versions: 130 hp and 250 newton meters of torque or 220 hp and 300 newton meters. With the battery with a capacity of 40 kWh, a range of 300 kilometers is available, while mounting the battery from 60 kWh extends to 470 kilometers in the city. The maximum speed (electronically limited) with the 130 hp engine is 150 km/h, while 100 km/h is reached from the start in just 10 seconds. The 220 hp EV 60 model has a top speed of 160 kilometers, while it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds.

As far as safety measures are concerned, it is equipped with innovative systems, such as the highway and traffic assistant, the adaptive cruise control with the lane centering function or the intelligent speed limiter, which allows you to automatically block the maximum speed of the vehicle according to the current legal limitation. To reduce the risk of a collision, the new electric Mégane E-Tech also features Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, which combines data from the front camera and side radars to automatically return the vehicle to its original position. lane when, when overtaking, it detects a risk of a frontal or side collision or when the car is about to leave the road. The new Mégane E-TECH introduces a new electric power steering system with a higher reduction ratio for more agile and direct steering. Thus, the driver reacts faster and more clearly to his touches on the steering wheel, which facilitates manoeuvring. This advantage also includes the presence of a multi-link rear axle linked to the new steering column, which guarantees better stability and more precise steering.
