Renault is renewing its offer in the SUV category with hybrid engines with the new Austral, from €30,900
The new Renault Austral continues the offensive started with the Arkana and the 100% electric Megane E-Tech in this segment, with a more resounding, attractive and technological exterior design that encompasses all SUV codes. To provide a driving experience that combines dynamism and efficiency, Renault has developed a new-generation E-Tech Full Hybrid engine for the Austral, with 160PS (available in 2023) or 200PS versions. In its most powerful version with 200 hp, this propulsion system consists of a new 1.2-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 130 hp and 205 newton meters of torque, combined with a new electric motor, a lithium-ion battery (2 kWh / 400V ) and an intelligent multi-mode gearbox that offers up to 15 combinations, two of which are in 100% electric mode. Its fuel consumption, starting at 4.6 litres, and its CO2 emissions, starting at 104 g/km, are unrivaled in its category.
A Mild Hybrid 12 Volt engine completes the engine range, based on a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection delivering 140 hp (manual/automatic) or 160 hp (automatic). This engine achieves lower fuel consumption from 6.1 liters and CO2 emissions from 138 g/km.
The New Austral range has three trim levels: Equilibre, Techno and Iconic. The two upper levels can be configured with a very special finish: Esprit Alpine. First introduced to the brand, this finish inherits the sporty DNA of the Alpine brand and reflects it with a unique design. The Alpine versions enhance the Austral’s appeal with its sporty front bumper in satin gray foil, 20-inch diameter alloy wheels, gloss black window trims, 3D-effect rear lights, Alcantara fabric upholstery with blue stitching and nappa leather steering wheel with blue, white and red stitching.
