Seat appoints Jose Arreche as new director of the factory in Martorell

Takes on the challenge of driving the transformation of the factory to produce electric vehicles from 2025

Jose Arreche, an industrial engineer specializing in the application of Industry 4.0 technologies, has been appointed
new manager of the Seat factory in Martorell (Barcelona).

According to the brand, the challenge is to promote the transformation of the factory
producing electric vehicles in Martorell from 2025. Arreche will report to the company’s Vice President of Production and Logistics, Markus Haupt, and will be in charge of SEAT SA’s main factory, where the company produces different models on three production lines: the SEAT Ibiza, the SEAT Arona, the SEAT León, the CUPRA Formentor and the Audi A1.

Markus Haupt, Vice President of Production and Logistics at SEAT SA, stated that “Jose Arreche joins SEAT SA at an important moment for the Martorell plant, his experience will be decisive in accelerating the transformation of the plant. It will rise to the challenge of guaranteeing the launch of the first 100% electric models as we continue to produce combustion engine and electric vehicles.”

Jose Arreche’s long career in the Volkswagen Group will be essential to foster production synergies between the Group’s plants in the Iberian Peninsula (Martorell, Pamplona and Palmela in Portugal). Arreche, an industrial engineer specializing in the application of Industry 4.0 technologies, started his career at
Volkswagen Navarrawhere he held numerous positions until he was appointed Director of Planning in 2018.

During his career, Arreche has also led projects for the Group:
for 3 years he directed from Wolfsburg the execution of sheet metal projects at Volkswagen plants in China.
