Toyota C-HR Prologue, with more character than ever

Date:

Much more than just a concept car, the C-HR demonstrates Toyota’s commitment to what made it such a success.

Toyota anticipates the next generation of one of its biggest sellers, the C-HR. At the Paris Motor Show in 2014, the brand showed what it was preparing for
launching a whole new genre of vehicles within the C-segment It was then that the world discovered the ‘Toyota C-HR prototype’. Two years later, that prototype became a fact. So with the C-HR, Toyota brought a vehicle to market that didn’t compromise and wasn’t afraid to stand out, just like the people who would drive it.

Now, in 2022, it seemed difficult to surpass this milestone. But the prologue of the Toyota C-HR has been presented as proof of that
Toyota can offer all that and more.. It’s a first glimpse – albeit a very real one – of a vehicle that will soon be turning heads on Europe’s roads. Much more than just a concept car, the Toyota C-HR makes it abundantly clear that Toyota remains true to what made it such a success. A sensational model ready to turn even more heads.

A look at the prologue of the Toyota C-HR reveals that the model has remained true to its original DNA. However, it is also clear that the new generation presents novelties.

Always fearless, perhaps still controversial, the Toyota C-HR prologue presents a more refined expression of boldness. As provocative as ever and just as exciting, the C-HR prologue demonstrates a range of qualities so varied that it is rarely found in the same vehicle. Bigger wheels and shorter overhangs enhance its presence from every perspective. At the same time, it not only exudes a sportier feel, but also has more practical interior space.

Likewise, the C-HR prologue forgoes static lines to subtly express alternating movement, between marked forms and fluidity. His precise organic design language, developed from two seemingly opposing values, changes the shape of surfaces and makes them smoother. This high dynamic range takes the contrast between fluidity and stark shapes to unprecedented levels. At the same time, the pronounced character lines have been simplified to enhance a more refined image. By allowing surfaces to express both organic movement and extreme precision, the C-HR prologue combines exceptional modernity with a local human touch.

On the other hand, the HAMMERHEAD front is part of a 3D architecture achieved through overlapping shapes and a bold light signature. The grille openings are narrowed, while the headlights are slimmer to accentuate the high-tech identity. The Toyota C-HR has a futuristic look that is as sharp and penetrating as a shark, and as ready to leap forward. The same theme of overlapping shapes runs throughout the body, full of diamond edges, curves and intersections, and is articulated around two overlapping shapes that underline the vehicle’s presence.

Finally, the prologue of the Toyota C-HR also demonstrates Toyota’s commitment
with carbon neutrality, by expanding the electrified range for the largest and most competitive market segment in Europe: the C-SUV. The new plug-in hybrid Toyota C-HR with batteries assembled in Europe, as well as the hybrid version, will further enhance Toyota’s multi-technology offering.
