Date:

The brand uses the opportunities offered by electrification to improve the performance of its vehicles and the pleasure of driving

Lexus is committed to developing new technologies and vehicles that maximize the potential of electrification, not only to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions, but also to raise the bar in terms of performance, dynamics and intensity behind the wheel .

The brand pioneered electrification in the luxury car market, launching the RX 400h hybrid SUV in 2005. Since then, it has pushed the boundaries of technology to further improve performance and efficiency, and has built up unparalleled experience in the development of large electric vehicles. components, including electric motors, batteries and power control units. At the same time, it has popularized hybrids with a growing number of models, with more than 2.3 million sales worldwide. Today, more than 90% of new Lexus vehicles sold in Europe are hybrids. The company uses this experience to ensure that its new generation of electrified models offer the highest level of quality, performance and safety.

To help realize its ambitions, Lexus is preparing a new global headquarters in Shimoyama, Japan, a flexible, automotive-focused complex where all of its development initiatives will be centralized, with designers and engineers working side-by-side in design and test circuits.

The Lexus Electrified Sport concept represents Lexus’ vision of a future flagship sports car with a battery-electric powertrain. It reflects the company’s intention to build electrified vehicles with a truly sporty dimension. Its flowing lines – defining a new identity for Lexus battery electric vehicles, inspired by the speed and grace of aerobatics – are matched only by power. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is expected to take place in approximately two seconds.
