We reveal what the next Volkswagen ID.3 will look like

Date:

With sustainability in the spotlight and a carbon neutral footprint, the interior of the vehicle contains no animal-derived materials

Next spring, Volkswagen will present the new ID.3 to the public. The second generation ID.3 will be a new addition to the successful ID. family: to date
more than half a million IDs., built on the Modular Electric Propulsion Platform (MEB), have been delivered to customers around the world. Currently, the ID.3 is produced at the Zwickau and Dresden factories in Germany.

However, the production network will be expanded next year with, among other things
the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg to meet high customer demand for this all-electric compact car.

“The new ID.3 demonstrates our commitment to quality, design and sustainability. The design has matured and we have improved the materials used in the interior,” he says.
Imelda Labbe, responsible for Sales, Marketing and After-sales Administration of the Volkswagen Executive Committee. While working on this updated version, the development team took into account several suggestions from customers to improve the product and the standard equipment package: “The needs of our customers are always at the heart of our mind. That’s why we listen carefully and focus on tailoring our product portfolio to their needs,” added Labbé.

The new ID.3 is equipped with
the latest generation of software, which improves system performance and can receive over-the-air updates. In addition, the standard equipment package has been updated: it now includes a 12-inch (30.5 centimeters) screen, a removable boot floor and a center console with two cup holders.

Features such as Plug & Charge and the intelligent EV route planner make charging in the new ID.3 even easier and more convenient. Volkswagen
has built in the latest generation of assistance systems in the ID.3. Prominent examples are the optionally available Travel Assist with swarm intelligence and Park Assist Plus with memory function.

“Part of our mission at Volkswagen is to offer advanced technologies and innovations in all models, including compact cars, and the ID.3 is an example when it comes to new comfort and assistance systems: we are taking the next step in the path to highly automated driving with the use of swarm data in the latest Travel Assist,” he explains.
Kai Grünitz, member of the board of directors of the Volkswagen brand responsible for development.

In Europe, customers can order the pre-configured Entry2, Business2, Style2 and Tour3 models in the coming days. The starting price of the Volkswagen ID.3 Entry is
€45,020 (VAT included and before application of the MOVES subsidy). Due to the high order volume, customers who order now are expected to receive their new ID.3 from Q4 2023.
