Nine out of ten Spaniards believe that roads should have more technology to improve traffic flow and safety

The DGT and the European Parliament have been working together since 2019
a new regulation which mandates the implementation of a package of eight security systems in all new models of passenger cars and light vans, with the aim of increasing safety levels and thus minimizing road accidents.

But while driver assistants, known as ADAS, are becoming more common in vehicles, not all of them are well accepted by drivers who also claim that roads
have more technology to improve traffic flow and safety.

This concern is reflected in some of the conclusions from the second episode of the
II Mobility survey of Northgate Flexible Renting. Among the proposed innovations, those related to security are the most accepted, confirmed by 69% of those surveyed.

The installation of a vehicle lock through an alcoholism test is the most appreciated measure, with 39.7%, followed by the installation of black boxes to record incident data, with 22.6%. On the other hand, initiatives such as installing a
intelligent speed assist (15.4%) or implementing an emergency brake signal when exceeding 55 km/h (6.9%) arouse less interest from users.

In addition, due to the current situation with the high fuel price and the uncertain economic situation we are in, the second most valued measure related to everything related to developments in fuel-efficient driving is indicated by 36, 1% of Spaniards. This new form of efficient mobility includes the development of
new types of vehiclesthat are more sustainable, think 33.3%.

For their part, innovations related to connectivity and digitization systems are positively valued at 12.8%. And 12.2% appreciate technology improvements related to vehicle workshops that facilitate service and offerings
more adequate help to user

When we talk about measures that promote economical driving, users not only think of the combustion engine car, but it is increasingly important to know how to get the most out of the battery of electric vehicles to get more autonomy. In fact, this is one of the innovations that should be given priority according to the Spaniards, namely 45.9%. In addition, as a sign of the importance of
the electric vehicleis that the next measure to which they would give the highest priority is the installation of charging points (40.7%).

At this point, it is essential to have a mobility solutions provider that can provide personalized advice on all things electric vehicles. In this sense, Northgate plays a fundamental role in this transition to electric and efficient mobility, as it has developed a personalized advice and management proposal for all aspects related to electric vehicles, such as
installing charging points for users, or facilitating access to the charging infrastructure that will be installed at the head office.

Although it will be a few years before we can witness and live in smart cities, in which
electric and autonomous vehiclesIn addition to citizens being connected, there is 36% of Spaniards who believe that projects to create these “smart cities” have a future in the coming years.

As part of that future, there is more technology for all aspects of mobility, including roads. This aspect is supported by the majority of Spaniards, in fact 89.3% of those polled believe it
Spanish roads They should be equipped with more technology to improve traffic flow and safety.
