The bold design of the Suzuki S-Cross immediately conveys the elegant shape of a rugged SUV from every angle.
The new S-Cross is the latest model in the 4WD SUV lineup that Suzuki has been building for 50 years. «Bold, sophisticated, versatile. The new S-Cross is an SUV that fits these three concepts and all concepts at a very high level,” said Shigeru Aoyama, chief engineer of the brand, at the world premiere.
The bold design instantly captures the elegant shape of a rugged SUV from every angle. A large piano-black grille, stylish high-brightness three-point headlamps and quadrangular front and rear wheel arches, along with silver accents front and rear, add to the new S-Cross’ aggressive SUV character.
The S-Cross offers advanced driving technology. With a turbocharged 1.4 Boosterjet direct injection engine and the 48V mild hybrid SHVS system, it is efficient and powerful. The 4×4 Allgrip Select system, a 9-inch audio screen and a host of advanced safety technologies ensure fun and peace of mind while driving.
The interior has a three-dimensional design that matches the character of a high-performance SUV. The spacious cabin comfortably accommodates 5 adults, while a 430 liter boot offers fantastic versatility for a wide range of leisure and leisure activities. The panoramic sunroof provides even more driving pleasure.
Suzuki’s new Strong Hybrid system combines a newly developed fuel engine with a single engine generator (Motor Generator Unit or MGU) and robotic gearbox (Auto Gear Shift or AGS). It works in both hybrid driving and electric driving (stationary engine) to reduce fuel consumption.
Even at low revs, the powerful and efficient engine can start and accelerate the vehicle smoothly, as well as propel it solo (idle electric drive) during coasting, cruising and reversing for quiet and easy maneuvering.Minimal fuel consumption.
A key element of the new system is the location of the MGU at the exit of the AGS, a transmission that automatically operates the manual gearbox and controls the clutch. This configuration transfers power from the MGU directly to the driveshaft to fill the torque gap during shifting, providing a smooth shifting feel. In addition, it helps to recover kinetic energy and efficiently generate electricity by stopping the engine and releasing the clutch during deceleration. This increases the range of electrical conductivity.
It is possible to choose between standard mode and Eco mode. In standard mode, the MGU supports the engine more often for a more spirited drive, while Eco mode increases the frequency of electric driving to improve fuel economy.
