The CR-V is available with hybrid technology, featuring an Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) technology system that combines two electric motors (generator and booster), a petrol engine, a lithium-ion battery and a fixed transmission with high levels of efficiency. It can be combined with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The CR-V Hybrid is equipped with an efficient 2-litre i-VTEC Atkinson cycle petrol engine, delivering 107 kW (145 hp) at 6,200 rpm, and a
powerful 135 kW (184 hp) electric motor with a torque of 315 Nm. The petrol-electric power unit is able to accelerate the car from zero to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds in the front-wheel drive versions and in 9.2 seconds in the all-wheel drive versions.
The drive selector controls on the new Honda CR-V Hybrid are located in the center console, with a design that uses a compact, push-button-style transmission selector switch instead of the conventional lever. The “Sport” mode, which can be activated via the drive selector switch, provides greater throttle response in the hybrid system. When the battery is sufficiently charged, the all-electric EV mode can also be selected at the touch of a button, achieving a range of 2 km of zero-emission driving, depending on driving conditions and battery charge.
The CO2 emissions in the combined cycle are 120 g/km, with a fuel consumption of 6.6 l/100 km (WLTP) for front-wheel drive versions. And to all this we have to add very good quality finishes, with the latest technology and driver assistance systems.
The instrument panel with a clear horizontal orientation and the layout of the dashboard promote the feeling of space. The elegant design provides a feeling of strength and robustness, while the tactile materials used enhance the high-quality feel.
Honda has streamlined the display design and now only has a central touchscreen, plus the 7-inch driver information interface that can be viewed from the handlebars. The control button layout has also been simplified, with a simple air conditioning management group located under the touchscreen.
The model offers the possibility of seven seats and the legroom of the passengers in the front seats has been increased. Although the CR-V is and remains a road car and makes few trips on country roads, it has good off-road skills. Ground clearance has been increased to 191mm on front-wheel drive versions and to 201mm on all-wheel drive versions.
