Polestar announces the arrival of its first high-performance electric SUV

The launch of this vehicle represents Polestar’s entry into one of the automotive industry’s highest margin and growth segments, especially in the United States.

Polestar, the Swedish electric vehicle company, has announced that the world premiere of its latest model, the Polestar 3 high-performance electric SUV, will take place in October 2022. The Polestar 3 is the first SUV to be produced by the company. The launch of this vehicle represents Polestar’s entry into one of the automotive industry’s highest margin and growth segments, especially in the United States.

Over time, the Polestar 3
offering autonomous driving using Luminar’s advanced LiDAR sensor and an NVIDIA CPU. At launch, the Polestar 3 will be equipped with a dual powertrain and a large-capacity battery with a range of 600 km (WLTP).

Customers can pre-order their Polestar 3 in the first markets from the day of the launch. Production of the Polestar 3 is planned for early 2023 in the United States and China.

In addition, the brand plans to
new vehicle per year for the next three yearsstarting with the Polestar 3, and aims to be present in at least 30 global markets by the end of 2023. This strategy fulfills Polestar’s goal of multiplying its global sales by 10, from approximately 29,000 in 2021 to approximately 290,000 by the end of 2025.
