Despite the fact that 68% of the vehicle fleet in our country is made up of passenger cars, the transport of goods (trucks and vans) carries an important weight in terms of road safety, as it
second most common vehicle type that circulates on our roads, occupying 14% of the park. And they are involved in 13% of the claims with victims that occurred in Spain in 2020.

That is why the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) continuously monitors compliance with the maximum safety measures in vehicles intended for the transport of goods and people. So, for the next 7 days, that is,

It will focus on
supervision and control of aspects such as such as the speed at which they travel, the driving and rest hours, the tachograph, being overweight, any technical defects in the vehicle or the safety of the transported load. Attention will also be paid to the vehicle and driver documentation, the use of seat belts by the driver and the occupants, the use of the mobile phone while driving and will be asked by the officers to test it for alcohol and other drugs.
