It is now possible to write to ChatGPT on WhatsApp as if it were a telephone contact. OpenAI has announced the arrival of ChatGPT to the social messaging network Meta, WhatsAppas well as the ability to make calls with the ‘chatbot’ (a feature only available in the United States), by creating a contact for ChatGPT that users can save as another phone number on their smartphones.
As the tech company explained in a video on its website, OpenAI made the contact 1-800-ChatGPTthat uses the American telephone number +1 (800) 242-8478. This way, users can use it to make calls or chat with him through messages on WhatsApp.
The ‘chatbot’ is limited to text input, so interaction can only take place via messages and does not support image or voice input.
To chat with ChatGPT on WhatsApp, simply start a new chat with the previously saved contact 1-800-ChatGPT, just as you start conversations with other new contacts. However, since it is an American number, it must be stored with the prefix +1 so that WhatsApp recognizes it in the Spanish state.
Then, as OpenAI has illustrated, users can ask questions to the ‘chatbot’ via text input, and ChatGPT will also offer text responses with the requested information.
