With duct tape or multipurpose oil on hand, we can be in more than one hurry
No matter how many precautions are taken, a car can break down at any time, especially in the summer with more travel and high temperatures penalizing some components. That’s why it’s important to have some basic accessories on hand to deal with emergencies.
Toolbox. A basic kilt to repair a puncture, keys, screwdrivers, pliers with cutting edge and a pair of gloves should not be missing in the trunk of the car.
Spare lamps. It is no longer mandatory to carry them, but the General Directorate of Traffic makes it clear that it is not allowed to drive with a burned-out headlight, so it is advisable to have a spare headlight.
American band. Having it on hand can be a godsend for solving minor mishaps, such as holding a rear-view mirror or insulating a cable in poor condition to prevent a short circuit.
Fire extinguisher. A small one kilo model that can be placed under one of the front seats or in the trunk is sufficient. We will be able to extinguish any threat of fire that may arise from a short circuit or spilled fuel and prevent the car from burning out.
Phone charger. The cell phone battery usually discharges when it is needed most, especially if you need to use the data and browser, or call roadside assistance or insurance in the event of a breakdown or emergency.
Clamps and cables. With these accessories we can help other drivers who run out of battery on the road or start our car when the battery runs out.
Multifunctional oil. It is impossible to know in advance what could stop working in the car, especially if it is a few years old. With a multi-purpose oil, we can move some parts that get stuck at the most inopportune moments, such as hinges, locks or wheel nuts.
