Digital leaders come together in the forum ‘Cybersecurity, the big challenge’

Date:

The digital transformation has entered the lives of all people and organizations, increasing the possibilities of communication and connectivity. Without these capabilities, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy and in particular on our daily lives would undoubtedly have been much greater. But all this comes with a series of risks that have made cyber-attacks a daily reality that no one doubts anymore. Recent experience shows that the complete inviolability of information cannot be guaranteed. Wherever we depend on technology, there is a threat to our systems and data: risk is inevitable. That is why, in a world in digital transformation, we must increasingly take cybersecurity into account. Institutions and organizations of all sizes and activities are vulnerable and the target of threats from cybercriminals who are increasingly organized and resourced.

Aware of the importance of the moment, VOCENTO and CIONET, the large community of digital leaders in Spain and Ibero-America, join forces to create the forum ‘Cybersecurity, the great challenge’, a space for analyzing and identifying opportunities in a sector with high added value and focused on internationalization, taking place this Wednesday.

The forum, sponsored by SIEMENS and ZSCALER, will be opened by Carme Artigas, Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, and will feature two major thematic blocks: the first, “Cybersecurity in a Connected World”, will feature Javier Candau, head of the Cybersecurity Department of the National Cryptologic Center; Karen Gaines, Global Head of Cyber Defense at Siemens; Javier Ramos, Rey Juan Carlos University Rector and President of the Conference of Madrid University Rectors (CRUMA) and Yolanda Gómez, ABC Deputy Director, who will lead the debate that will include how to deal with threats and what are the latest trends in cybersecurity.

The second of the blocks is titled ‘Competitiveness and Cybersecurity’ and will bring together Enrique Ávila, director of the Civil Guard Analysis and Prospective Center and director of the National Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity; Raquel Hernández, Regional Director for Spain and Portugal at Zscaler and Esther Mateo, General Director of Security, Processes and Corporate Systems at ADIF. Juan Carlos Fouz, managing partner of CIONET Iberoamerica, will lead the debate that will reflect on the tools to achieve greater competitiveness and lower operational risk.
