The Frequency Festival in St. Pölten was already well attended before the official start on Thursday. Wednesday night the Red Bull Stage was packed as part of the “Prequency” and had to be closed. The Red Cross has cared for more than 100 people so far. According to the police, the journey to the location has gone well so far.
The so-called Prequency on Wednesday was intended for the early campers. They gathered in large numbers in the Lower Austrian provincial capital. The influx to the Red Bull Stage was huge. “Many wanted to get in, the entrance was blocked,” said the commander of the city police, Colonel Franz Bäuchler. There were no injuries.
“Best weather”
“Of course we had a very interesting act with SSIO,” said Frequency organizer Harry Jenner in an interview with APA. So that “everyone can enjoy it”, they responded without further ado and moved the performance to Thursday afternoon. The German musician’s performance now takes place on the Green Stage – at Ssunshine and high summer temperatures. “We have the best weather,” Jenner said with satisfaction.
More than 100 festival guests treated, five in hospital
The three Red Cross medical bases on the campsites and the main base opposite the VAZ, which is staffed by emergency doctors, are fully operational. Ambulance staff treated 126 people on Wednesday. “They often suffered minor (cut) wounds and were able to return to the festival site after treatment,” emphasizes a broadcast. Five patients were taken to St. Pölten University Hospital.
