According to FF Schweinbach, a young family from Linz was very lucky with their baby in the car in the village of Au (Upper Austria) on Saturday evening. A tree fell right in front of her moving car. The driver was just able to stop. No one was injured. Moments later, the tree would have hit the young family directly.
Fire inspector Thomas Königsdorfer, head of operations, was the first to reach the scene of the accident with the Schweinbach fire brigade and immediately had the Gusental district road blocked in this area.
The tree has been removed by firefighters and the car is parked nearby. After police checked other trees, the road was reopened to traffic, the fire service said.
