Date:

Horrible skiing accident Tuesday afternoon in the Tyrolean Oberland: A 26-year-old Dutchman came over the edge of the slope in Fiss (Landeck district), was literally lifted and eventually ended up against a panorama board. Despite prompt first aid, all the help for the young man came too late – he died at the scene of the accident.

The tragic accident happened shortly before the end of the day at around 3:45 pm. The 26-year-old holidaymaker was driving down a blue-marked slope when, for unknown reasons, he went over the edge of the slope near the mountain station of the Möseralmbahn.

Companion First Aid
“The Dutchman was lifted to the edge of the site and then crashed about ten meters lower against a panorama sign outside the runway,” the police said. The man remained motionless in the snow – his companion riding behind him immediately rendered first aid.

All help came too late for Mann
Unfortunately, the injuries were too serious: despite rapid resuscitation measures by the slope rescue service, who arrived a few minutes later, and the deployment of the emergency helicopter, the Dutchman died at the scene of the accident.

The body was recovered by the police helicopter and flown into the valley.
