On Monday, a man in his twenties jumped into Lake Como and drowned. He had no ID on him, only a plane ticket to Vienna. Police are now trying to find out his identity.
The man had traveled to Como, Italy, with some young people he had met in Venice a few days ago. There the group had taken a boat trip on the lake together on Monday. At the dock of the marina in Torno, the 20-year-old jumped into the lake and was unable to get up. Cameras at the entrance filmed the moment of the jump.
Name nor place of residence known
Because the fellow travelers could not give the name or whereabouts of the drowned man, police officers are now trying to determine his identity. The man is said to be a Nigerian citizen and said he lived in England. He had no ID on him, only a plane ticket to Vienna in his pocket, local media reported. The airline must now help identify the dead.
