The average price of diesel oil has cut the downward spiral registered since late June this week and it has become 0.55% more expensiveon his first ascent so far this summer, to ascend to the 1,816 euros.
The average price per liter of petrol has continued its descents, the ninth consecutive series after become cheaper by 0.61%standing in the 1,786 eurosthe lowest level since April, according to data from the European Union Oil Bulletin.
With this new decline, the gasoline has been accumulating for eight consecutive weeks of declines and an overall decline of 16.61% since the upward trend that had suffered since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in June changed.
Anyway, this amount average of both fuels includes taxes, but does not display the discount which has been in effect since April 1 last year of at least 20 cents per liter, as there are higher discounts depending on the oil company and the promotions for loyal customers.
Taking into account this subsidy, the price of a liter of petrol would be 1,586 euros, while that of diesel would be 1,616 euros, in both cases clearly lower than the prices indicated at the end of March, before the entry into force of the aid – 1,818 euros per liter for petrol and 1,837 euros for diesel.
Despite the drop in prices during the summer, the price of fuel shows a particularly high price compared to the past few years at this peak of the summer. So with compared to the same week a year agothe average price of a liter petrol is 26.2% more expensivewhile in the case of diesel oil has become more expensive 44.1%however without taking into account the currently valid bonus.
With these levels, the price of 95% unleaded petrol in Spain remains above the European Union average, located at 1,765 euros per liter, although not from the eurozone, with an average price of 1,818 euros. In the case of diesel, the price in Spain is lower than the EU average, which is 1,826 euros, and the Eurozone, with a price of 1,859 euros. However, including the bonus of at least 20 cents per litre, the price of both fuels in Spain would be below the European average.
The price of fuels depends on several factors, such as the specific price (independent of that of oil), the evolution of crude oil, taxes, the cost of raw materials and logistics and gross margins.
In this way, the evolution of the price of crude oil is not translated directly, but with a delay, to the petrol prices.
