In the US state of Alabama, a pastor was arrested while watering his neighbor friend’s flowers. Now he is suing the police for racism.
After his Sunday sermon at his church in Childersburg, Alabama, Michael Jennings watered the roses at a neighboring friend’s house. Passing police officers stopped and asked the pastor what he was doing on the property. His response that he was gardening for his neighbor while on vacation did not satisfy officials: “Anyone can say that!”
Neighbor confirmed friendship
Police CCTV footage shows Jennings calmly replying, “I’m watering the flowers – what more evidence do you need?” Even a passing white neighbor confirmed that Jennings is a friend of the homeowner and lives across the street.
Nevertheless, the pastor was arrested – for “impeding police investigations”. There was no charge. The pastor is now suing the police for racism.
