Spectacular scenes took place in Villach in the night of 1 May: as reported, a 37-year-old around 1.15 am next to the cycle path in the dream area had slipped and fell into the water. The woman was just able to stay on a bush and fight against the strong current. A brave eyewitness hurried to help – however, the steep slipped and also fell into the cold Drau. The 53-year-old was just able to hold a branch.
But in this case the accident was lucky: the two uniformed Daria and Thomas of the Villacher police were on patrol and were warned by Passeurs -by the police of Villach. The executive officers brought a casting bag from the blue light vehicle and “fished” the two victims from the Drau.
