Despite complaints – fuss about early discharge from hospital

Gernot Zupanc from Obersiebenbrunn, in the Gänserndorf district, has made serious allegations against the Mistelbach hospital in Lower Austria. His mother (78) was sent home despite her bad condition.

The pensioner, who suffers from chronic renal failure, was taken to hospital with acute complaints. “She was only given antibiotics. Then they said everything was done for her, the rest was up to the doctor,” says Zupanc.

“doctor clapped hands”
Because the 78-year-old’s condition at home did not improve, the family contacted their GP. “He folded his hands when he saw my mother. She was immediately taken to the hospital in Hollabrunn,” said Zupanc. According to the son, in addition to kidney disease, atrial fibrillation was also diagnosed.

“Now she is on the mend,” said Zupanc, announcing further steps against Mistelbach hospital. But you don’t want to have done anything wrong there.

“We were able to achieve significant clinical improvement in Ms. Zupanc through targeted drug therapy during her hospital stay. She was stable for three days, even at the time of discharge,” the hospital said. A laboratory check was also carried out immediately on the day of discharge. “We have also pointed out that in case of acute symptoms you should always return to the hospital”, it is emphasized.
