In a new video message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the role of his country’s air force in the war against Russia. But the struggle for freedom and independence can only succeed together with those who do not accept tyranny. One thing is certain: “Freedom always wins.” Zelenskyy announced that supporters of Ukraine abroad should also be honored.
Moscow hoped “to destroy our air force in the first hours of the great invasion,” Zelenskyy said in a video released Saturday. “Of course that was a completely crazy target for the enemy – just like a lot of other targets too.” The pilots are first-class and are also praised by other countries for their skills, he emphasized.
The head of state had previously congratulated “Air Force Day” and declared: “The invaders will disappear like dew in the sun. And our defense is and will remain the sun.”
Putin to appear in court
It was recently announced that six months after the Russian invasion, Kiev is trying to bring Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin and his military commanders to court. The goal is for an international criminal court to investigate Russia’s “crimes of aggression” (see video above).
He also emphasized once again that the fight for freedom and the independence of the country can only succeed if we work together. “It is a joint effort. And it is a result that will be achieved thanks to the strength and solidarity of all those who value freedom and do not tolerate tyranny,” he said, also referring to other states that support Ukraine. “Freedom always wins.”
