They were arrested yesterday morning and, after making their statements in the court of Pau, they were released without charge all afternoon. Demonstrations were held in Hazparne and Itsasu to protest the arrests.
The four youths arrested in Hazparne and Itsasu yesterday morning and charged with painting graffiti against various real estate companies have been released without charge.
The arrests were made after an investigation into several graffiti that appeared in several towns of Iparralde between November and March against real estate speculation. After their arrest, the four youths made a statement in the court of Pau and the investigating judge ordered their release.
Several youth movements and EH Bai denounced the police operation and called for protest mobilizations yesterday afternoon, both in Hazparne and Itsasu. In the latter city, for example, about 150 people gathered in front of the town hall under the slogan ‘Atxilotuak askatu, errepresioari buru egin’.
According to EH Bai, “the French state continues with the recipes of the past”, denying the demands of the majority of the people.
