Pretending to be the victim of a knife attack and injuring his hand – reported the “Krone” – an Austrian in Kufstein, Tyrol, called the police on Friday. After intensive investigation by the officials, however, it now became clear how the cuts on his hand had really come about.
A southerner wanted to stab him with a knife after talking to his girlfriend beforehand – a 32-year-old Austrian told police how he injured his hand outside a restaurant in Kufstein on Friday night. He described a dark-haired man wearing a green t-shirt and dark pants. But now it’s clear: This “attacker” doesn’t exist at all, as researchers at the Kufstein Police Station found out.
Injured himself while arguing with a friend
Actually, the 32-year-old did not get into an argument with another man, but with his girlfriend of the same age. He smashed a beer bottle on a table in front of the bar. This is how the bleeding wound on his right hand came about – not by deflecting a knife, as the locals said.
According to the detectives, it is yet to be clarified why the man was pretending. He is now charged with counterfeiting a criminal act – and material damage, because the table he smashed with the beer bottle was damaged.
