Arrest in Tyrol – coal mine cheated: holiday ends for Germans in prison

Date:

The Tyrolean police have now been able to stop a suspected drunkard: the 71-year-old German is said to have forged a false identity and rented a hotel in Seefeld (Innsbruck-Land district) for more than a week. The suspect has been arrested and is now in custody.

The 71-year-old German is said to have checked into a hotel in Seefeld and provided a false name and an incorrect home address. He therefore spent nine nights there, apparently with the intention of not having to pay the demanded bill. The suspect was eventually unmasked and investigated.

Several thousand euros in damage
According to the police, the man was able to demonstrate further rent fraud in the course of the investigations. This has so far resulted in damage of several thousand euros. The suspected rent fraudster was first transferred to the police station after consultation with the Public Prosecution Service.

In the meantime, he has been taken to Innsbruck prison, according to a spokeswoman for the executive branch “Krone”. Further investigations are underway.
