In the night of Friday, August 26, two as yet unknown perpetrators removed the covers of nine sewer wells on the Metnitztal Landesstraße near Friesach (Carinthia). They were observed.
Just before one o’clock in the morning, they laid the nine blankets on the sidewalk by the roadside. Fortunately, an observant woman from Friesach noticed the two and immediately alerted the police. “We were able to put the manhole cover back in time before an accident could happen,” an official reassured.
Police looking for possible witnesses
Police are now enlisting the public’s help in finding the two vandals. In fact, the two men were wearing shorts – otherwise there is no further information.
