When they saw their construction site, workers in the Tyrolean town of Sölden must have been surprised on Wednesday morning: unknown perpetrators started using a wheel loader overnight and destroyed the entire site.
The perpetrators are believed to have entered the construction site between 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, where they gained access to and also started a wheel loader.
They subsequently damaged numerous objects on the site with this vehicle, including a construction container, a mobile toilet, an excavator and an associated shovel, a construction fence and various attachments.
“Destroy the Construction Site”
Police said the construction site was “devastated”. According to the officials, the extent of the damage caused by this cannot yet be quantified. It is also unclear whether the vandals are one or more perpetrators.
