The group of 14 experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency will begin its inspection of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant on Thursday, as fighting continues between Russian and Ukrainian forces in the area.

The international expert mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reached today Zaporizhzhyain the southeast of Ukraine, where they will have their inspection of nuclear power plants.
“Today, at around 3pm, the IAEA mission arrived in Zaporizhzhya” in UN cars, as reported by the Ukrainian nuclear agency Energoatom on its Telegram account.
Inspectors from the UN nuclear agency are expected to start work tomorrow at the factory, the subject of constant shelling and artillery strikes which Kiev and Moscow have been accusing each other of in recent weeks.
The mission of the UN experts will focus on: prevent a nuclear accident at the largest nuclear power plant in Europesaid Rafael Grossi, director-general of the IAEA, who personally leads a group of 14 technicians from the organization once he arrived in Zaporizhia.
As to whether he is confident that the Russian military will give them access to determine the situation at the plant, the IAEA chief said the team is made up of “highly experienced” experts on security and safety issues, and that they will be able to get a very good idea of what is happening.
The Argentine diplomat insisted that one of the objectives will be to speak to the Ukrainian staff operating the plantaccording to the body subject to enormous physical and mental stress.
