Electricity prices as an argument in court: To be precise, the price of electricity from hydropower, which has increased by 163.38 percent for a woman from Linz, since the price is based on the gas price.
The Verbund client from Linz, together with lawyer Michael Poduschka, filed a lawsuit against Verbund and caused a veritable stream of lawsuits. On September 20, a first hearing against Verbund and other electricity suppliers will take place at the commercial court in Vienna.
Need more transparency
Attorney Poduschka is mainly concerned with the transparency of electricity supply contracts. “It is very understandable that the gas price has risen and that inflation is currently taking place. However, it is incomprehensible that the cost of electricity products from domestic hydro has more than doubled.”
Uninformed Customers
The fundamental question for the lawyer: did the customers really know how the electricity price is determined? Poduschka: “You had no idea.”
