The 31-year-old Belarusian who was attacked with a knife by a Russian (55) in the Volksgarten in Graz on July 28 and suffered life-threatening injuries, has since died in hospital from multiple organ failure.
The victim and the 55-year-old Russian got into an argument on July 28 at a snack bar in the Volksgarten in Graz. The Russian grabbed a knife and stabbed, the 31-year-old man from Belarus was seriously injured. The perpetrator fled on foot and was arrested two days later. In the interrogations he spoke of “self-defense”.

As is now known, the victim died in hospital on Wednesday from multiple organ failure. The public prosecutor’s office in Graz has released the body for burial.
Investigation into suspected murder
The State Police of Styria is now investigating the suspicion of murder. The suspect is still in Graz-Jakomini prison.
