At least one person has been killed in a seaplane crash in Washington state. Nine more inmates were reported missing on Sunday. Rescuers searched for them from boats (video above) and from the air.
The machine was en route to Seattle-Tacoma Airport on Sunday afternoon from San Juan Island near the Canadian border. About halfway through, she crashed into Mutiny Bay. Ten people were on board when the accident happened. The body of one person has already been recovered, the US Coast Guard said.
Also a child among the missing
The other nine detainees were still missing on Sunday (local time). A child was among the passengers. Emergency services searched for them by boats and from the air. It is not yet clear why the crash happened.
