Police investigation after the discovery of a dead 90-year-old woman early Friday evening in Vienna: The pensioner was found by firefighters in her apartment, the victim had stab and cut wounds to her forearm. CPR was to no avail. Investigators currently assume that the woman was not alone in the apartment at the time of her death…
Emergency services had alerted the retiree’s nurse. She had been unable to reach the 90-year-old and was unable to get to the woman’s apartment in Vienna’s Leopoldstadt district. Initially an accident was suspected and the fire brigade was alerted. The helpers entered the woman’s home around 6:15 PM through a window. Inside the property, they then discovered the 90-year-old with no sign of life. A resuscitation by the armed forces of the Viennese professional rescue service should not remain a success.
Not just at the time of death
Police officers were suspicious of the injuries found on the woman’s forearm. In addition, boxes were searched in the apartment. A forensic autopsy was then ordered and performed. Although the investigation revealed a natural cause of death, another person may have been in the apartment at the time of the woman’s death.
The police have launched the investigation.
