The tragic accident happened around 12:30 p.m. According to initial information from “Krone”, the 60-year-old was traveling with a hiking group in the Krummschnabelmesser area. The group was probably a few meters ahead of the German. “He probably tripped and then fell,” a police spokesman said.
All help came too late
The rest of the group became aware of the accident after a member saw falling rocks. The walking colleagues immediately set the rescue chain in motion. However, for the 60-year-old, all help came too late. “He must have fallen about 60 meters.”
The police helicopter “Libelle” has recovered the body and flown into the valley.
