It was a shock to thousands of Austrians on Monday evening: despite valid corona certificates, it was red in their green pass app. On Tuesday morning, the Ministry of Health told Krone that the problems had been resolved. But not everything shines in green again.
The cause of the excitement was or is partly a display error in the app, which is considered evidence of corona vaccinations, recovery or a negative test result. According to the ministry, a software error had caused the valid certificates to suddenly be shown as invalid.
“No influence on validity”
A ministry spokesman emphasized Monday evening that the display error had no effect on the validity – there was no problem while traveling either: “You can easily check this with the GreenCheck app.” Some countries – such as Greece – still require the Entry to have a vaccination certificate.
Bugs fixed according to the ministry – but not for everyone
Most certificates were green again on Tuesday. According to the Ministry of Health, the software error has been fixed. However, a quick editorial poll found that some colleagues still declare the certificates expired – even when the app is updated. But that should correct itself over time.
