A scam involving VIP tickets to Champions League football has now been discovered in Lower Austria. According to the police, a 31-year-old promised a woman tickets for a match of Bundesliga champion Red Bull Salzburg worth 400 euros. The tickets for the Eredivisie match were not delivered and the money was gone. Further fraud offenses are assigned to the Austrian, the total damage is more than 4600 euros.
An investigation by the Herzogenburg (St. Pölten district) police inspectorate against the 31-year-old without permanent residence began on September 6. The accused would also be responsible for a “Love Scam” fraud and a total of eight rental frauds in St. Pölten, Krems and Herzogenburg.
After an anonymous tip, the 31-year-old was arrested in a bar in Krems. The man was transferred to the prison of St. Pölten by order of the public prosecutor.
